Fish observations from the lower Rhine/Meuse delta collected by anchored nets extracted from reports by Hoek (1888) and Hoek (1897)

Sampling Methods

Fishing with a static net from an anchored boat in strong tidal or fluvial currents. The net has a wide opening wich leads to a narrow end. In Dutch: 'ankerkuil'.

Study Extent Lower Rhine/Meuse delta was studied for damage of fisheries to salmon and Alosa fallax and Alosa alosa stocks in the late 19th century.
