說明
This dataset contains all specimen data of the three Stigmella species that feed on the tree Torminalis glaberrima (= Sorbus torminalis) in Europe. The rare Stigmella torminalis (Wood, 1890) was found in Germanyu for the first time in more than 100 years, and S. hahniella Wörz, 1937) for the first time after 90 years. This was not only caused by relative rarity of the species, but also by poor taxonomy and misidentifications. For completeness we incluse Stigmella mesoilicola, that feeds on a number of Rosaceae.
The compilation comprises all records of the three Stigmella species as validated by the authors, including observation data both from adults and larval damage on the platforms Observation.org, waarnemingen.be and DNA barcoding data from BOLD Systems.
