Description
Vleermuiskasten.nl (bat boxes.nl) hosts open data on bats in bat boxes provided by volunteers, professional bat ecologists and researchers. Additional metadata is available at vleermuiskasten.nl. Both presence and absence records are shown.
Occasionally birds are recorded in batboxes and when this occurs the scientific name of these birds are recorded. When the bat boxes are unoccupied, the individual count is recorded as zero. (In these cases GBIF records the scientific name as 'Incertae sedis' which has no meaning for this dataset)
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 19,489 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
