Maastricht collection, a collection of more than 1300 fossils from the Late Maastrichtian of the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 1,319 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. Project Data
Dit project is gericht op het vergroten van de capaciteit van Teylers Museum om de gegevens uit zijn paleontologische collectie te mobiliseren en te publiceren in GBIF. Hiervoor moeten de bestaande datasets worden omgezet in GBIF-gestandaardiseerd formaat, om daarna de kwaliteit van de gegevens te verbeteren. Met dit project wordt een eerste set van ca. 5000 records ontsloten. Het project zal focussen op 1) de standaardisatie en verrijking van gegevens uit de fossielencollectie volgens GBIF-data quality requirements, met hoge taxonomische, temporele en geografische precisie, en op 2) de capaciteit en expertise binnen de afdeling Wetenschap te vergroten voor duurzame datamobilisatie naar GBIF vanuit Teylers Museum. Het project zal door een externe paleontoloog en een registratiemedewerker worden uitgevoerd in nauwe samenwerking met de conservator en beheerders van de afdeling Wetenschap. Aan het eind van het traject is de kwaliteit van de collectiedata verbeterd en de gegevens zijn vrij toegankelijk voor (her)gebruik in wetenschappelijk onderzoek.
